drvn Routes
Scotland has some of the most photogenic driving roads on earth. These are our five favourites — each paired with the car we'd take, and the moments that road is built for.

No. 01 — Wester Ross
The "Pass of the Cattle." A single-track ribbon climbing 626m up the side of the Applecross peninsula with switchbacks that would feel at home in the Alps. UK driving doesn't get more dramatic. Stop at the top for the view across to Skye.
We'd pair this with: Porsche 911 Turbo S
Book the Porsche
No. 02 — Highlands
The most famous valley in Scotland, and a road that's been the backdrop of more car commercials than we can count. Sweeping bends, Buachaille Etive Mòr looming over you, weather that can turn from sun to snow in 90 seconds. Pure cinema.
We'd pair this with: Audi RS3
Book the RS3
No. 03 — North Coast
516 miles around the top of Scotland — and arguably the best multi-day driving route in the UK. Five to seven days of beaches, lochs, single-tracks and the kind of remote scenery you don't believe is in Britain. The bucket-list trip.
We'd pair this with: Land Rover Defender
Book the Defender
No. 04 — Stirlingshire
Less than an hour from Glasgow. The "Highlands in miniature" — forested mountains, mirror-still lochs, and a road network that's pure driving pleasure without the seven-hour commitment of the NC500. Best as a long weekend.
We'd pair this with: Volkswagen Golf R
Book the Golf R
No. 05 — Cairngorms
The UK's largest national park, and in winter it's another country entirely — pine forest dusted in snow, frozen lochs, and roads that the Defender was, genuinely, made for. Routes through Glenshee, Braemar and the Lecht reward an early start.
We'd pair this with: Land Rover Defender
Book the DefenderWant a fully planned multi-day Scottish driving trip — including hotels, restaurants and a chauffeur?
